Holy Cross Energy (“HCE”) and Aspen Consolidated Sanitation District (“Aspen San”) are pleased to present Pitkin County Solar, a 5MWac photovoltaic facility to be located on Aspen San land in Pitkin County, Colorado, and developed by RES Distributed, LLC (“RES”).
The project is brought forth by HCE in direct response to strong community demand for local renewable energy. The project provides a unique opportunity for renewables in the Roaring Fork Valley and supports HCE’s commitment to providing reliable, affordable, clean power to its members and communities. The project will help HCE offset the amount of energy procured from non-renewable sources and thereby reduce its carbon footprint.
Additionally, the project will allow Aspen San, one of the largest HCE customers, to fulfill its financial and environmental goals while supporting the community’s renewable energy initiatives. The project will lower Aspen San’s electrical costs of operation of the water reclamation facility and in turn benefit the district’s members by helping to stabilize customer rates.
Following HCE’s public procurement process, HCE selected leading renewable energy developer, RES, to manage the development, construction and operation of Pitkin County Solar through its subsidiary company Pitkin County Solar, LLC.
